Elsie Hanson

Elsie Hanson, 91, of Staples passed away at Lakewood Health System Hospital on November 6, 2022. 

Mass of Christian Burial was held November 12 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley with Father Aaron Kuhn presiding. 

Interment was at Poplar Cemetery in Poplar Township.

Elsie was born to Maurice and Hazel (Chumley) Davis on December 25, 1930.  She married Herb Hanson July 21, 1948 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley.

Elsie loved playing cards and she was an excellent cook and housekeeper.

Elsie will be deeply missed by her five children, Sandy Jenkins of Motley, Ronnie (Cindy) Hanson of Motley, Diane (Greg) Johnson of Staples, Deb (Tim) Cline of Browerville, Pam (Moris) Carter of Staples; one daughter-in-law, Della Hanson; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;one sister, Vernone Nelson and one brother, Maurice Davis, Jr.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Herb; one son, Harlin; one infant grandson, Sheldon; one son-in-law, Randy Jenkins; two sisters, Arlene Head and Janet Nanik and one brother, Edwin Davis.

Arrangements were by Taylor Funeral Home, Staples.
