Ebbie Stone
Ebbie Stone, 88, of Verndale passed away July 10, 2022, with family by his side at the St. Cloud hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the Verndale Chapel (Schuller Family Funeral Homes) with Pastor Ken Uhren presiding. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the chapel in Verndale on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.
Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Verndale.
Ebbie was born to Clyde and Adeline (Hosner) Stone on November 30, 1933, in Aldrich Township, Wadena County. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Verndale. He later completed a machinist course in Staples.
In October 1957, Ebbie joined the U.S. Army and served his country until his honorable discharge in September 1959. On October 15, 1955, he was united in marriage to Gloria Marie Johnson. They made their home and worked in the Twin Cities area. In retirement, they moved to his farm in rural Verndale where he lived until his passing.
Remembering Ebbie will be his wife, Gloria; one daughter, Joelle (Nelson/Stone) Alvord; two step-children, Jacquelyn Nelson and Scott Nelson; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Jiliane Hartfiel; one great-grandson, Jon Hartfiel; one sister, Lois Brummer of Wadena and a host of family and friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Kory Stave, Jiliane Hartfiel, Jon Hartfiel, Steve Maxfield, Jonathan Hartfiel, Kyle Stone and Wayne Stave.
Preceding Ebbie in death were his parents; one grandson, Jarvis Hartfiel and one brother, Ralph Stone.
