Deborah Sing

Deborah Susan Sing, 73, of Staples passed away peacefully December 13, 2024, in Staples.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 430 12th St. NE, Staples with lunch to follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Deborah was born September 12, 1951, the beloved daughter of Alfred Lee and Maxine Georgia Bjornoos in Stillwater. In 1957 her family moved to Randall where she spent her childhood and formative years. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1969 and later pursued her passion for creativity by studying Interior Design at the University of Minnesota.

On August 4, 1973, Deborah married Steven Clarence Sing, beginning a devoted partnership filled with love and shared experiences in the various places they called home. In Crookston, Deborah learned to play hand bells at the First Presbyterian Church, which led to 45 years of playing and directing at every church she subsequently attended. As an avid reader, it was fitting that she worked in Crookston’s school libraries and on the Moorhead Library Bookmobile. Hobbies kept her busy: making chain-maille jewelry for herself, friends and family, sewing (even the tiniest Barbie clothes), traveling, camping and fishing with Steve for sunfish (only sunfish). Together they built a life centered on family, faith and cherished memories.

Deborah is lovingly remembered by her husband; two daughters, Amara Kelly Sing (Mike) Pamperin of Prior Lake and Jenna Lee (Timothy “Benji”) Benjamin of DePere, Wisconsin; one grandson, Flynn Steven Pamperin; two brothers, Robert (Cathy) Bjornoos of Cambridge and Patrick Bjornoos of Randall; many nieces and nephews and her second family, Kathy and Herman Metzger and their children.

Known for her education to family and her creative spirit, Deborah touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. She will be deeply missed by the many friends she made in the towns she and Steve called home over the years. May her memory bring comfort and peace to those she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Bell Choir or the Staples Friends of the Library in Deborah’s memory.
