Barbara Niemann
Barbara Arlene (Myers) Niemann, 88, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her home on January 11, 2024.
She was born in Strool, South Dakota on July 27, 1935 to Lorance and Dorothy (Patterson) Myers. She married Donald G. Niemann on April 12, 1952.
Barbara and Donald raised their seven children in the northern Twin Cities suburbs. During this time, Barbara was able to turn her creative sewing abilities into a business that provided for her family as well as many others, well past her retirement.
Barbara and Donald eventually settled in Staples where they spent the remainder of their years together. Barbara lived the final year of her life in Piney Flats, near her oldest daughter, where she made many new friends.
She will forever be remembered by her children, Terri (Dan) Butler, Annalisa (Howard) Dunham, Loni Kay-Niemann, Shari Niemann, Robert (Brenda) Niemann, Tami (Bruce) Brotherton and Lori (Jeff) Dagle; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don (Joyce) Myers, Dick (Anne) Myers; two sisters, Sharon (Tom) Moxley and Pat (Dick) Ward and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her nephew, Chris Peterson.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; one sister, Marietta Peterson and one son-in-law, Robert Lidtke.
Barbara was extremely gifted in everything creative. She was always learning and mastering new skills. She loved to share her creations, which will live on in the homes of those whose lives she touched.
