Last week's three different heavy rainfalls were much needed for farms and gardens, but caused signifi cant water damage at the historic Northern Pacific Depot in Staples. Staples Historical Society members and Rita Goodrich from the architect's office viewed second floor damage last week. One contractor had removed all the old shingles, but the second contractor who is doing the roof repair and replacement had just arrived on the scene when the Tuesday morning rainfall came.
