Two injured, dog killed, in two-vehicle crash on Hwy 10

Snowy road conditions contributed to a two-vehicle crash along Hwy 10 west of Motley on March 5. As a result, two people were injured and one dog was killed. Motley Police Chief Brian Madison (pictured at the scene) reports that both vehicles were headed east on Hwy 10. The female driver of a Dodge (pictured at right in ditch) was attempting to turn right onto 321st Ave. but due to the road conditions could not locate the turn lane. She was rear-ended by the female driver of a Ford (pictured at left). Both women were transported by ambulance to Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples. A dog, which was traveling with the woman in the Ford, died at the scene. Responding to the accident were the Motley Police Department, the Motley Fire Department, Motley Fire and Rescue, Staples Police Department, Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Staples Ambulance; and MN State Patrol.
