Thieves target devices
A daytime burglary occurred on Pinto Drive, near the Fawn Lake Town Hall, between 2 and 5 p.m. on Jan. 22. According to the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, two laptop computers and a tablet computer were taken along with a large amount of cash.
Also on Jan. 22, a Staples resident reported to police that an iPhone was stolen from her residence on Wisconsin Ave. SW. The phone is valued at $700.

On Jan. 17, at 7:20 p.m., Staples Police responded to the Lakewood Health System hospital for a report of a domestic abuse victim who was in the emergency room. Police advised the subject in the incident.
On Jan. 18, around 9:45 p.m., Staples Police assisted the Todd County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop on Hwy 10 E. Staples Police assisted by transpoting three people from the scene when the vehicle they were in was towed.
On Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m., Staples Police assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with a personal injury accident on Highway 10 near County Rd 83, east of Staples. A Humvee driven by Chad Fishman of Staples rear ended a Pontiac registered to Sheena Killian-Robben of Staples. Robben’s car was totalled and the occupants of Robben’s car were at Lakewood Health System being treated for injuries when Staples Police arrived on the scene. Fishman was uninjured and his vehicle had very little damage. The accident was handled by the State Patrol.
