Center circle

2010-09-02 / News

Bob and Darla Peterson and their daughter Darcy were among the many folks who stopped to look at the 12 ft. by 12 ft. center circle of the original 1935 gym floor from the Staples Motley High School which was removed recently to make room for a new floor. Pieces of the floor were available to purchase Saturday during Railroad Days, but the center circle was auctioned in the afternoon. Arden Beachy had the top bid of $900. Proceeds from the auction and sales of smaller pieces will help pay for a protective covering for the new floor. Pieces are still for sale. Call Lynn Peterson at 218-296- 0713.
