Renn concert

2010-09-02 / Letters

This past Sunday afternoon I attended the free concert at the Lincoln Model School put on by Wayne Renn. What a good time it was.

There were a few members of our great city council who were strongly against this from happening for unknown reasons along with a couple of others who live behind the school. There was an excellent turnout, a lot of fun, everyone there looked like they had a very good time, even a couple people behind the school who were strongly against this, but lo and behold, they sat on their decks and in their yard the whole time and listened-guess they were too embarrassed to come and enjoy it with the rest of us.

Wayne also had some local talent there from the area and they were fantastic.

I want to say thank you to Wayne Renn and everybody who helped put this free concert on and I only hope these people who were against this from happening saw it was a great time for the community to get together and have a good time. There was not one problem, ask our local law enforcement. They may have liked it too. They were driving and standing around the whole time, even though Mr. Renn provided security at his own cost.

Me and a lot of other community members would like to see this happen again next year, so let’s do it, city council.
