As of Aug. 31, the water main installation is completed on Main Street West, from Hwy 10 to 6th Avenue; and at the intersection of Beaulieu Street and 6th Avenue. Crews this week are concentrating on putting in water mains along Beaulieu.

Recently, crews have been working to put storm sewer piping in on Main Street and 3rd Avenue; and put in new storm sewer manholes as well. They hope to finish that up by next week.

Aric Welch, city engineer with Widseth, Smith and Nolting, said that water services along Main Street should be up and running this week. “Once the bacteria tests have been passed (in regard to the new water line) we’ll be good to go,” Welch said.

When the underground work is completed, crews will move on to grading the streets and getting them ready for curb and gutter.

“We’re concentrating on one area at a time,” said Steve Rugroden, the overseer of the project, also with WSN.

The entire project encompasses approximately 12 blocks; and includes improving the roadway and the storm sewer system. Estimated date of completion is mid-October.
