The Motley Area Food Shelf (MAFS) will be hosting an informational open house Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 6 - 8 p.m.

The food shelf is located next to the water tower at 697 3rd Avenue in Motley.

On Sept. 30, the food shelf will be closed while work is being done in the building.

According to Kathy Schleichert, codirector of the MAFS, the interior space of the food shelf will be rearranged to accommodate client choice shopping; and much of the space needs painting.

Members of the community are needed for painting, stocking shelves; and serving as shopping escorts.

When it reopens in October, the food shelf will be available one evening each month in addition to the usual Thursday mornings (9 a.m. - noon). For more information, call 218-352-6344.
