Lucille Brastad, 87, of Staples, died Aug. 3, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services were held Aug. 7, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Bluegrass with Fr. Scott Wittkop officiating. Burial was in St. Hubert’s Catholic Cemetery in Bluegrass.

Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena.

Lucille was born Feb. 27, 1923 in Little Falls, to Matt and Christine (Geltel) Kasper. Lucile grew up on a farm in the Staples area. She was married to Stanley L. Brastad in 1947. After living and working in the Twin Cities they moved back to the Staples area after retiring. She enjoyed being a homemaker.

Lucille is survived by her husband, two sons, Larry (Diane) of Buffalo; Einar of Staples; one daughter, Phyllis (Mike) Willis of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Keegan; Karin Frenz; and her parents.

Pallbearers were Oran Willis; Jason and Brian Brastad; Adam Frenz; Michael Lother and Jeff Dagen.
