City clean-up day
The City of Staples sponsored a city wide Cleanup Day July 31, at the city street garage area. Vehicles were lined up at 6:30 a.m. to unload a wide variety of items to be disposed of, including appliances, furniture, car batteries, tires, rubbish and debris. Responsible for rubbish and trash was Long Prairie Sanitation, which brought in four trucks and at least six staff members. Recycling was handled by SW Inc., out of Willmar, which came with three trucks, three trailers and six staff members. (Staples World photo by Dawn Timbs)
