William Etzler, 98, died July 20, 2010 at Prairie Hills Nursing Home in Rapid City, S.D.

Arrangements were with the Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home of Rapid City.William was born July 25, 1911, at Stroll, S.D. to Mike and Mary (Michalec) Etzler. When he was six weeks old the family moved to Lincoln, where they farmed. He married Margaret Meeds on Dec. 28, 1936 in Motley. Together they farmed until moving to Rapid City in 1946. William worked for C.H. Lien and then Pennington County Highway Department before retiring in 1976. He was active in the flea market and loved rummage sales.

William is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Berman, Green Valley, Ariz.; Leitha (John) Kammerer, Rapid City; six grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; one great great-granddaughter and one sister, Delores Rice, Elk Grove, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Georgia Opitz; and four sisters.
