Sylvia Har minnie Selvey, 97, of Staples, died July 22, 2010 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.

Funeral services were held July 24, at the Staples Alliance Church. Burial was in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples

Sylvia, was born Feb. 6, 1913, in South Dakota, to Harm and Anna (Harms) Korfe. She married Franklin Selvey on Feb. 6, 1940.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, was a volunteer driver for Todd County Social Services and also taught Sunday School.

Sylvia is survived by her husband of 70 years; two daughters, Eunice (Bud) Bergquist of Verndale; Naomi (Steve) Grow of Moorhead; two sons, Ronald (Donna) Selvey of Staples; Frankline (Genie) Selvey of St. Peter; 15 grandchildren; 30 greatgrandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three brothers, John (Irene) Korfe; Alfred “Bud” (Irene) Korfe; Clarence (Lois) Korfe; three sisters, Luella Pankratz; Jean Bolstad; and Irene (Eldon) Cole.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Race; two brothers, Wesley and Raymond Korfe; her parents; three sisters, Margaret Yunker; Theresa Riffle; and Anna Russell.
