Senior Citizen News
It seems like I just did the June newsletter and now they want the July edition. News is not too abundant lately, at our center. We’ve had some beautiful days and people want to be out in our short summer weather. I know it keeps me busy with my lawn and gardens (also feeding the birds). I did buy a different used car, but I had to buy a van because I do so much hauling of grass, etc., out to the city dump. My old van was a 1997 with only 63,800 miles on it. It was
like saying “goodbye” to
a beloved family member - never any trouble with it.
Birthdays are picking up again. For July our birthday celebrants are Doreen Scott, Elmer Mickelsen, Russ Dahl, Mary Ann Riewer and Florence Mickelsen. Five anniversaries will be celebrated in July: Richard and Jean Medley, Bud and Betty Haskins, Roy and Norma Anderson, Don and Betty Roline and Herb and Elsie Hanson. That’s a lot of anniversaries for us “older” folks.
Last month would have been Katie Johnson’s birthday, but sadly, she lost her long fight with cancer and passed away. She was a beautiful person and we will all miss her. Mona and Leonard Weber are still not doing well. You are in our prayers.
Now that summer is offi cially here, the days will go quickly, so get out as much as possible and enjoy our nice days. We have such few nice days in Minnesota, we have to take advantage of them. Of course, we also have to put up with road construction (or destruction in Staples).
