Duane Dukowitz

Duane Dukowitz, 74, of Staples, died July 19, 2010, at his residence.

Funeral services are Friday, July 23, 2010, 1 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Friends may call on Thursday, July 22 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the church in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be at St. Isidore’s Catholic Cemetery, Moran Township.

Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Browerville.

Duane was born August 14, 1935, in Moran Township, Todd County, to Joseph and Lily (Plakuk). On April 4, 1964, he married Mary Ann Smith at St. Isidore’s Catholic Church. Duane served in the U. S. Army, Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged.

Duane worked on the railroad for nine years, Twin City Arsenal, Thelen Roofing and farmed for 40 years. He enjoyed playing jokes, telling stories and having company. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Duane is survived by his wif; three daughters, Terri (Raymond) Kobliska and Kari (Donald) Brusewitz, both Staples and Kristi (Richard) Serich, Aldrich; one son, Dan (Diane) Dukowitz, Staples; one sister Harriet Pnazek of Chicago, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Lillian Dukowitz, Chicago; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothersin law, Lucille (Raymond) Marvigillia and Betty Jean (Jim) Kane; two brothers, Leonard and Joseph (Viola and one brother-in-law, John Tweedie.
