Memories made at the Cass County Fair in Pillager

Miranda Paananen, 10, of Pillager, won a blue ribbon at the Pillager Fair for a wall hanging she sewed. “I made it at my grandma’s house; she let me use her sewing machine,” Miranda said.
Lakewood Health System, Staples, took first place at the Pillager Parade July 10, with their float, Joint Connection - ‘It’s a walk in the Park.’” There were 60 units entered in the parade, reports Pillager Fairboard President Arnie Cole. “The Brainerd American Legion took second and Bigwater Buggies took third.”
Pat Blue (left) and Leona Heinecke, both of Motley, enjoyed visiting at the Pillager Fair July 10. Both women said they try to make it to all of the area’s county fairs; and enjoy looking at the animals and crafts.
