KC’s Saloon

In downtown Pillager, KC’s Saloon, located at 116 Cedar Street, is once again the place to go for “Buck Burgers” on Wednesday.

Owner Kim Gibbs reports that they reopened May 15, nearly three months after an attic fire last February caused major damage to the building.

“We’re really grateful for this community... the fire department, fairboard members. People have been so good to us during this whole ordeal,” Gibbs said recently.

“The Old Mill” Supper Club and Sports Bar (formerly known as The Lin Club) is now open in the Lincoln Lakes Area. A fire last August caused severe damage to the eating establishment; consequently, owner Bob Boyd opted to build a new restaurant/bar on the parking lot of the old one, which was torn down. Boyd also renamed the place “The Old Mill.” Designed with a Western theme, the eating establishment is divided into two sections, with ample room for sitdown dining; and a bar area, complete with a flat-screen TV, games and a jukebox. The Old Mill is located on Old Hwy 10 in Cushing, near Azure Road. All new hardwood floors have been put in; there are new handicapped accessible bathrooms; the pool table and dart-board are new; and six flat-screen TV’s have been installed.

In addition, ATM and Wi-Fi services are available to patrons.

“We’ve also got an outside eating area now,” Gibbs said, adding that they are in the process of landscaping and putting in sod.

The Old Mill

In Cushing, the former Lin Club has been completely re-built and has also been given a new name - The Old Mill.

“We’ve got the same great food that we had before; but we’ve added some new menu items, including ribs; and of course, the building is brand new,” said Bob Boyd, owner of the establishment.

Boyd purchased the former Lin Club, which had been closed for nearly five years, in the spring of 2009, with a grand opening celebration in June of that same year.

The newly remodeled restaurant/bar had only been open two months, when an electrical fire last August severely damaged the building, forcing Boyd to close down temporarily.

Although he had originally thought he might try to restore the former building, Boyd soon realized they’d need to tear it down and start all over.

With the new building came a new name.

“I used to own a place called ‘The Old Mill’ in another town. Plus, there used to be an old lumber mill in this area years ago. The name just made sense,” Boyd said.

The Old Mill is located on Old Hwy 10, near Azure Road in Cushing. For more information, call 218-575-2550.
