Members of Kerry Lindgren’s Plant Science II class at Staples Motley High School removed and replanted many perennials recently in city planters located near the former Ernie’s Food Market in Staples. The students began raising the flowers (which started as plugs) this past March in the high school’s greenhouse. Class members include Ryan Bart, Zach Brusewitz, Jason Degrauwe, Mike Denny, Danielle Gerving, Travis Hofmann, Megan Lindgren, Julie Mack, Andrew Nelson, Becky Standal, Randy Webster and Nicole Willman. Pictured at right are Megan Lindgren and her dad (Mr. Lindgren) who watered the plants every morning. Others involved with the city planters include the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the Staples Rotary Club, the Forestry and Beautification Board (FAB) and the City of Staples Park Rangers who will be in charge of watering the flowers throughout the summer.
