State bank group president to speak at Staples Rotary

Joseph Witt Joseph Witt Joseph Witt, president and CEO of the Minnesota Banke rs Association ( M BA )willbethe f e at u red speaker at the June 9 meeting of the Staples Rotary Club at noon at T Maxwell’s Restaurant. The public is invited to attend.

Witt has served as president since 2003. The MBA’s motto is “The Champion for Minnesota Bankers,” and Witt works to ensure that the association is an effective advocate for the industry. Roughly 95 percent of Minnesota banks are members.

Witt will also be available to answer questions following his talk.

Witt is a licensed attorney who began working for the MBA’s legal department in 1996. He is recognized as an industry expert and is a frequent lecturer and instructor at various banking and legal functions. He also represents the indsutry at the state legislature and is one of the MBA’s primary contacts with the media.

Witt has a bachelor’s degree in government from St. John’s University, Collegeville, and a juris doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul. He and his wife Kelly live in Shakopee with their two daughters.
