Deadline is June 15 for Community Awards
The deadline is fast approaching for nominations to be accepted for the Staples Community Foundation’s Distinguised Service Awards.
The Staples Community Foundation (SCF) seeks to honor those who have contributed to the community at a Community Awards Celebration scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7, at T Maxwell’s.
Nominations will be accepted from until June 15, in six categories. Those categories are:
o Citizen of the Year
o Group or Organization of the year
o Business of the Year
o Youth of the Year
o The Duane R. Lund Award for Lifetime Achievement
o Chairman’s Award The Chairman’s Award can be suggested by the person submitting the nomination. Possibilities might include: Volunteer of Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Educator, Police Officer, Firefighter, Medical Person, Farmer, Child Care Provider, etc., anything that does not fit into the other five categories.

Nomination letters should include the following:
o Contact information (name, address, phone number and e-mail address) of the individual or organization making the nomination.
o Contact information of the individual, group, business or organization being nominated.
o A response to the following question: How has the individual or group contributed to the wellbeing of the Staples Community?
