One injured in Fourth Street accident

Police responded Thursday, May 20, to a report of a personal injury accident that took place on the 200 block of Fourth Street N. E. about 3:29 p.m.

Julie Kobliska, the driver of one of three vehicles involved, was transported to the hospital by ambulance as she was complaining of neck pain.

Police reported that the accident involved a truck being driven by Michael Lynch, who was southbound on Fourth Street when his truck hit the rear end of a Chevy Tahoe being operated by Kobliska, with that vehicle in turn being pushed into the area of a Dodge Stratus, which was being operated by Kaylee Martin.

Police said Kobliska’s Tahoe had moderate damage while both Lynch’s truck and Martin’s vehicle had minor damage. The other two drivers reported no apparent injuries.

Police on Monday, May 24, reported that someone had apparently struck a pole at 201 Second Avenue S. E. Judy Borg reported hearing a noise about 7 a.m. but said she did not see the pole being struck. Police found a tire print on the pole. The Staples Water and Light Department was notified and police are asking anyone who has any information on this incident to call police.

A gas drive-off was reported at the SuperAmerica station May 21.

A glass door on the west side of the Batcher building was reported broken out on Wednesday, May 19.
