Elaine Rogers, 82, of Staples, died May 5, 2010, at the Lakewood Health System Hospital, Staples.

Funeral services were held May 10, at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Burial was in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home, Staples.

Elaine was born Oct. 3, 1927, in Preston to Frank and Erna (Freeman) Boelter. After graduation from Preston High she worked as a nurse’s aid in La Crosse, Wisc. and telephone operator in Minneapolis. In 1955 she married Omar “Bud” Nordby and they lived in St. James.

Elaine lived at the Lakewood Health System Care Center where she enjoyed playing cards and games.

Elaine is survived by two daughters, Deb (Jeff) Gay of Jackson; Nancy Morriss of Staples; four grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren; one brother, John (Delores) Boelter of Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Omar “Bud” Nordby and Lloyd Rogers; one brother, Dewey (Roberta) Boelter.
