Alice Berglund, 88, formerly of Motley, died May 8, 2010 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center, Staples.

Funeral services were held May 11, at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Burial was in the Motley Public Cemetery.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.

Alice was born July 26, 1921, to Jack and Elsie Hayes. She lived in Motley most of her life. She raised horses and enjoyed farm life. She enjoyed visiting friends and relatives. Alice was active in the Baptist Church in Pillager, teaching Sunday School for 25 years.

Alice is survived by one sister, Glennadean Baptiste of Motley; one nephew, Scott (Barbara) Markus of Motley; two nieces, Rhonda (John) Tanner of Gull Lake and Michele Baptiste of Staples; and many greatnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents and one brother, John Hayes.
