Carol Ann Siekman
Carol Ann Siekman, 60, of Cushing, formerly of Edina, died April 23, 2010, at the Mayo Clinic, St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, after battling a severe case of Bacterial Meningitis.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, April 30, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 25430 Bison Rd., Cushing, with Rev. Heather Culuris officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Arrangements are with the Emblom Brenny Funeral Home in Little Falls.
Carol was born in Evergreen Park, Ill. June 30, 1949, to Fred and Helen (Maclaren) Rueter, and spent her childhood in Palos Park, Ill. She married Norman Siekman in 1969, and was a 1972 graduate of the University of Illinois. Carol was an aerobics and swimming instructor as well as a teacher before raising her three children in Wheaton, Ill.
In 1989, she moved with her family to Edina. In
2008 she and Norm
retired to Lake Alexander. Carol was a long-time member of the League Aires, a volunteer singing group that performs at nursing homes and hospitals and a recent member of the Staples Area Women’s Chorus. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, entertaining, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband, one son, Matthew (Kelly); two daughters, Katherine (Chris) Moses; and Alexis; four grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Henzel of N.Aurora, Ill., and her loyal golden retriever, Sunny.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
