Alice Seely, 92, of Staples, died March 28, 2010 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.

Funeral services were held April 1, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Burial was at the Motley Public Cemetery.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home.

Alice was born, Nov. 15, 1917, in Tracy, to David and Cora (Alexander) Smith. She grew up there and graduated from the eighth grade. She married Paul Seely and moved to Staples where he worked for the railroad.

Alice is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Seely of Browerville; one brother, Clem (Eva) Converston of Fridley; local nieces, Alice (Paul) Delaney; Susan (Doug) Cyrus; Ann (Joe) Wright; as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and six brothers.
