Dustin Smith, right, participated in the Public Speaking CDE (career development event) March 11. Dustin’s speech was on rural leadership. He finished in first place earning a gold medal in the Region 2 competition. Dustin will participate in state competition April 26-28. CDE events are designed to develop rural and agricultural leadership by providing member participation in agricultural public speaking activities and simulating interest in leadership and citizenship. Gretchen Schleper, Public Speaking CDE Chairperson presented Dustin with his first place medal.
