Delegates from the Staples Motley FFA chapter attended “FFA Day on the Hill” at the Minnesota State Capitol as part of National FFA Week activities. Members had the opportunity to sit in on both Senate and House sessions during the day and be involved in committee meetings.

They met with Senator Dan Skogan, Senator Paul Koering, Representative Al Doty, Representative Mark Murdock and Representative Mary Ellen Otremba to discuss issues related to Career and Technical Education and agriculture. “It was a great experience to be able to talk to the legislators and hear things from their perspective,” said Tom Mack. Members said they developed a further understanding of the legislative system. A tour of the Capitol was included.
