Helen Kringen, 95, of Mora, died Feb. 24, 2010 at Scandia House, Mora
Funeral services were held March 1, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora with Pastor Vic Elfstrom officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
Arrangements were with the Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora.
Helen was born in Todd County, May 17, 1914, to Joseph and Amelia (Lenecic) Gaffke. She married George Kringen on Nov. 4, 1933, in St. Paul. Together they operated a farm in Fawn Lake Township, Todd County, for nearly 60 years. They sold their farm in 1992 and moved to Mora. She had been residing at Scandia House in Mora for the past 10 months.
She was an active member of the Philbrook Church of Christ. She participated in the Ladies Aid ministry and other church activities.
Helen is survived by two sons, Darrell (Georgia) Kringen of Mora; Roger (Marcia) Kringen of Colville, Wash.; one daughter, Janice (Clark) Pettersen of Reedsburg, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren, 31 greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, Delores Macauley; one daughter-inlaw, Beverly Kringen; four brothers, Joe, Bill, Adolph and Frank Gaffke; three sisters, Etta Oldenburg; Tillie Sinotte; and infant Anna.
Pallbearers were Ryan and Rod Pettersen, Kim Kringen, Laryn andDoug Macauley, Todd and Lee Vreeland.
