(Staples World photo by Tom Crawford) Rick Wiersgalla, Chief Operations Officer of Unity Bank, has announced three new additions to the staff at the Unity Bank, Staples.

Richard (Ric) LaCoursiere has joined the staff as Vice President and oversees the daily operations of the bank. In addition to his supervisory duties, Ric serves both commercial and real estate customers.

LaCoursiere, a native of Warren, a is a 1983 graduate of the University of Minnesota - Crookston and the Minnesota School of Banking. Ric began his banking career with Bremer in May of 1983 in Warren and has served banks in both Park Rapids and Randall. Ric is the father of three children and is a current member of the Staples Rotary Club.

Jerry King, a native of Butterfield, has joined Unity Bank as Vice President of commercial, consumer and real estate credit. Jerry, who began his banking career in 1967 with Thorp Finance Corporation, has served banks in Crookston, Winona, Olivia, Great Falls, Montana and Crosby. In 1990, Jerry was named president and director of Staples State Bank (later First Integrity Bank) in Staples. King joined First State Bank of Swanville in 1997 as president and director and held that post until 2007 when he was named to a similar post with the Randall State Bank.

Jerry is a past member of the Still Crusin’ Car Club, Host Lions Club, Staples Chamber of Commerce, Lakewood Health Foundation Board, Community Development Board and Region 5 Planning Board.

Jerry and his wife Marilyn are the parents of Jason (Rochester) and Michelle (Cloquet)) and have three grand children. The Kings are current members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Staples and have resided in Staples since 1987.

Aaron Myhre has joined the Unity Bank staff as a consumer lender. Aaron is a native of Red Lake Falls and was raised on the family farm. He is a 2009 graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. In college, Aaron was a member of the Dragon Club and the Economic Society. Additionally, Aaron was a head hockey coach with the Moorhead Youth Hockey Program. Aaron began his banking career with Northern State Bank in Thief River Falls as a lending assistant.
