Unity Bank lists new staff at Staples office
      Rick Wiersgalla, Chief Operations Officer of Unity Bank, has announced three new additions to the staff at the Unity Bank, Staples. Richard (Ric) LaCoursiere has joined the staff as Vice President and oversees the daily operations of the bank. In addition to his supervisory duties, Ric serves both commercial and real estate customers.

Deputies report one-car rollover
      Wadena County Sheriff’s Deputies, while on snowmobile patrol on Saturday Feb. 27, came upon a one vehicle roll-over accident on 330th Street in Red Eye Township in Wadena County. Deputies came upon the accident at approximately 11:11 a.m. and provided care to the driver until First Responders and ambulance crew arrived on scene.

      The Todd County American Dairy Association (ADA) held its annual Dairy Princess program on Feb. 20, and selected four Dairy Princesses and eight Junior Dairy Ambassadors to serve the organization during 2010.

Police report theft from Farmers Market
      The theft of funds from the Staples Farmers Market group was reported to police last week. Rebecca K. Garey reported Feb. 19,that she is the bookkeeper for the Farmers Market organization and that a money pouch containing $260.13 was stolen from her apartment at 205 Airview Drive NE.

      None of the 20 passengers aboard a school bus were hurt in a minor collision Feb. 24 in Clarissa, according to the Todd County Sheriff’s Department.

Hands on experience at Staples ranch
      Students in the Vet Tech program at Globe University Minnesota School of Business, Moorhead, ventured on a field trip to a local farm Feb. 15 for hands-on experience with large animals. The 10 students spent the day at the Duane and Mary Dukowitz farm south of Staples.
