June O’Neil

June (Griep) O’Neil, 83, of Victorville, Calif., formerly of Staples, died Jan. 18, 2010, at her home.

Arrangements were with the Dessert View Funeral Home in Victorville, Calif.

June was born June, 23, 1926 in Long Prairie, to John and Isabella (Maier) Griep. The family moved to Staples in 1932. June attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Staples High School, Class of 1944. She married James O’Neil in 1945. She was a long time member of Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Adelanto, Calif.; and of the Catholic Daughters of America.

June is survived by four daughters, Jan O’Neil; Jeani (Gil) Ponce; both of Baldy Mesa; Kathy (Robert) Jonas of Apple Valley; Jill (Jim) Carroll of Bakersfield; three sons, Michael O’Neil of Baldy Mesa; Dan O’Neil of Grand Terrace; Dale (Carol) O’Neil of Littleton, Colo.; six grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, one great great-grandchild; three sisters, Marjorie Fieber of Madison; Esther Butler- Ludwig of El Cajon, Calif.; and Audrey Finn Zimmer of Staples.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sister, Alyce Cain.
