Student Achievements MINNESOTA STATE COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE has announced its fall 2009 President’s List, which includes students enrolled in at least 12 credits and earning a grade point average during the semester of 3.50. Local students named are: o Zachary Koskiniemi, Staples o Sherman Sheets, Staples EMILY SOUKUP, Detroit Lakes, has been named to the President’s List for the 2009 fall semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. To qualify, a student must complete 12 or more credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.50. Emily, a 2009 graduate of Staples Motley High School, is the daughter of Michael and Deanna Soukup of Staples. WILLIAM FISK, Staples, has been named to the President’s List for the 2009 fall semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. To earn this scholastic achievement, a student must complete 12 or more credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. BRITTA BINEK, rural Verndale, has been awarded a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) scholarship. The NHSC is a competitive federal program that awards scholarships to students pursuing training in a primary care health profession in return for a service commitment. Binek is a 2004 graduate of Staples Motley High School and graduated summa cum laude from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2008. She is a first year Physician Assistant student in the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse/Gundersen/ Mayo program. |
