County official appears in court on DWI charge

At a Dec. 23, court appearance, Long Prairie Grey Eagle School Board member and Todd County Solid Waste Administrator Tim Cadwallader, 46, of Long Prairie, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence.

Bail was set at $12,000 bond/cash with no conditions or $6,000 bond/$600 cash with a number of conditions.

According to a complaint filed in Seventh District Court on Dec. 21, Eagle Bend Police Officer Bobby Berndt arrested Cadwallader behind Olson’s Truck and Tractor Repair in Clarissa after two motorists reported a full sized blue truck was being driven in a dangerous manner, southbound on U. S. Highway 71.

A breath test administered at the Todd County Detention Center indicated a .21 blood alcohol concentration, according to the complaint.

At the time of his arrest, Cadwallader was driving a county owned vehicle. According to Todd County Administrator Nate Burkett, Cadwallader has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

Cadwallader’s next court appearance was Jan. 4.
