Student Achievements
NORTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY has announced its fall 2009 dean’s list, which includes students enrolled in at least 12 credits and earning a grade point average during the semester of 3.50. Local students named are:
o Aldrich: Isaac Kelsey
o Staples: Nicole Barnett, Jordan Blessing, Jacob Fink, Samantha Jo Metzler, Jared Peterson, Megan Weyer
CHELSEA EINERWOLD, Staples, has been named to the University of Wisconsin - Superior’s fall dean’s list. To qualify, students must have completed 15 semester credits and achieved a 3.50 grade point average.
MARY METZLER, Staples, was part of a group of Concordia College students that received a $500 award from the Embassy of Spain for a video they produced on Spanish culture. The winning two-minute video (http://tv.spainedu.org/ mediamanager/) featured the San Isidro Day festival in Madrid, Spain. Mary, a senior, is the daughter of Michael and Francine Metzler, Staples.
JOSEPH MERTENS, Moorhead, has been named to the President’s List for the 2009 fall semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. To qualify, a student must complete 12 or more credits for the semester, with a grade point average of 3.5. Joseph is the son of Arnie and Nancy Mertens, formerly of Staples; and the grandson of Roy and Lois Mertens; and Jim and Darlene Tepley, all of Staples.
