In response to another view

Unlike last week’s writer, Christians do not have to assume on such matters as homosexual behavior. God has given us His inspired word to live by.

In today’s society most anyone who tries to stand up for right and wrong is immediately labeled as judgmental or intolerant. Thanks be to God we don’t have to judge. He has given us clear instructions in black and white, as to what is right and wrong. All we have to do is take some time to read the Holy Bible.

Read Romans 1:18-32, it clearly states homosexual activity is wrong.

Jesus never stated in the Gospel that since He came to earth the rest of the Bible should be considered irrelevant. Jesus often used the Old Testament to try and teach us how to live in the Christian faith.

Jesus always referred to God His Father. He also spoke of the helper He would send after He left earth, the Holy Spirit.

Christians need to remember the Triune God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All three have given us words to live by. Christians should not fall into the trap that if Jesus didn’t say it, it’s not relevant. This is just society’s attempt to get rid of three fourths of the Bible. God the Father gave us the law and the Old Testament. God the Son gave us the gospel and the Holy Spirit gave us the New Testament.

The leadership of the ELCA is going down the wrong path. They would like to dissect the Holy Bible and leave us with only the Gospel. Christians should use all three parts of the Bible, to try and understand how best to serve God and others to bring about the righteous life which God desires.

The Holy Bible as a whole gives us God’s ideals. The things we should strive to live for and the rules to live by. We are biblically called to love and obey God, spread the Gospel to all nations, love and cherish one another. We are not called to accept sin.
