‘Feed My Starving Children’ update

Volunteers, money, still needed

Approximately 80 volunteers and $8,000 are still needed to help with the Twin Cities based Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) event scheduled for Feb. 6 and 7, at Central Lakes College in Staples.

“We have approximately $9,000 in the bank as of today,” said committee member Lee Jenkins Jan. 18. A total of $17,000 must be raised to pay for the meals produced (each meal costs 17 cents).

Although many people have already signed up for a two-hour shift, Jenkins said that 40 volunteers are needed for Saturday; and 40 as well for Sunday.

To volunteer, contact Diane Thomason at 218-894- 0184.

To donate, send check (payable to SM Community Packing Event) to First International Bank (PO Box 40, Staples, MN 56479) or donate online at www.fmsc. org/mobilepack/donate (Event Number: 1002-87).

The event is being made possible through a partnership between churches in Staples and Motley; and FMSC.
