Adeline (Sorg) Andersen, 102, of Randall, died Jan. 10, 2010 at Amazing Days Elderly Care in Randall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, at Randall Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rob Bellin officiating. Burial will be in Pillager Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager.

Visitation is from 10 - 11 a.m. Thursday at the

church.

Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.

Adeline was born Nov. 17, 1907 in Lester, Iowa, to the late Philip and Ida (Klein) Sorg. At a young age her family moved to Pillager, where she attended school graduating from Pillager High School in 1925 as the Valedictorian. After high

school Adeline attended the University of Minnesota.

She married Hans Andersen in 1928. They lived and farmed Hans’ family farm in Rail Prairie Township for many years. Adeline was on the Pillager School Board.

They moved from the farm in 1964. Adeline and Hans enjoyed many great years together on Lake Alexander.

Adeline was known for being a good cook, gardener, seamstress and homemaker. She attended the Randall Presbyterian Church and was the first female elder. Adeline was active and enjoyed a women’s Bible study, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She lived at home on Lake Alexander until the age of 98, at which time she moved to Eagle Court Apartments in Randall and most recently lived at Amazing Days Elderly Care Center near Randall.

Adeline is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Gene Gullickson, Austin, Beverly (Sam) Boswell, Laurel, Miss. and Jacquelyn Magee of Randall; one son, Dale (Virginia) Andersen of Lake Alexander; 15 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; four brothers, Henry, Parley, John and Albert; one sister, Dorothy; and one granddaughter.
