Roof work

The roof of the new Ernie’s Food Market building is going up. Fourteen workers for Hammers Construction of Perham were on the site Monday, including six men on these lifts securing the long metal roof panels in place. Other workers were putting up the metal stud walls at the same time. The recent below-zero weather slowed work, according to Curt Zachariason, construction superintendent, but the project is close to being on schedule. Once enclosed, the building will be heated and the ground thawed to allow plumbing, concrete work and other below grade work to continue during the cold weather. A May 1 store opening is the target date. (Staples World photo by Tom Crawford) The roof of the new Ernie’s Food Market building is going up.
