Ruth Chapman, 87, of Bullard Township, died Dec. 30, 2009 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena.

Funeral services were held Jan 2, at Swan Valley Lutheran Church in Leader with Pastor Mel Nefstead officiating. Burial was in the Poplar Cemetery.

Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.

Ruth was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Leader to Benedict and Marie (Ellingsdatter) Bendson. In 1942, she married Martin S. Wiebesick. Martin passed away 10 years later. In 1965, Ruth married Schyler Chapman. She worked as a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed quilting, dancing, traveling, gardening and bingo.

Ruth is survived by four sons, Stewart (Lisa) Wiebesick; Robert Wiebesick; Roger (Barb) Wiebesick; Jon Chapman; one daughter, Alvina (Ron) Morrison; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one son-in-law, Darrel Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Martin and Schyler; parents; one daughter, Geraldine Johnson; and eleven siblings.
