Brenda L. Brattlund, 36, of Pillager, died Dec. 30, 2009, at HCMC in Minneapolis.

Funeral services were held Jan. 4, at the First Lutheran Church in Pillager with Pastors Christopher and Heather Culuris officiating. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, Pillager.

Brenda was born on Aug. 15, 1973 in Brainerd, to LeRoy and Shirley (Simons) Smith. She attended Pillager Elementary and Pillager High School graduating with honors in 1992. She also graduated from Central Lakes College with an AA degree in 1992.

Brenda worked for Pine River State Bank for the past 10 years. She was the Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at the Pillager office. She recently went back to school for investments and graduated with honors from The University of Phoenix. She married David Brattlund on Jan. 28, 2006, in Jamaica. She enjoyed riding her and David’s Harley every chance they could get, traveling, camping, shopping, family dinners, crafting and anything Disney or Precious Moments.

Brenda is survived by her husband; two children Chase and Alisha; parents, two sisters, Lauri (Rob) Anderson; Elizabeth “Beth” (Jesse) Arnold; grandmother, Betty Simons; nieces and nephews; her in-laws, Lloyd and Charlotte Brattlund; one brother- in law, John (Sue) Brattlund; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandpas, Richard Simons and Edward Smith; grandma, Lois Smith; one sister-inlaw, Sharol Borgstrom; and step-grandmother Ethel Smith.
