All School Reunion Committee to finalize mailing details Jan. 13

The All School Reunion Committee will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Staples Community Center.

The details of a mailing to all alumni of Staples High School and Staples Motley High School will be finalized. The committee is seeking volunteers to help update the addresses on the class lists before this mailing.

“We’re asking people to take the list from your class or your sibling’s class or your children’s classes and check the addresses,” said Mike Blessing, chair. “You may have some updates the committee wouldn’t know about otherwise. The more people looking at the lists, the better.”

DeEtta Bilek has been keeping the list since just before the reunion in 2000. Some classes that have had their own reunions have given her updates, but many more are still needed. Lists are especially incomplete for the classes of 2000-2009 because many addresses are to the parents.

“We want the list to be as accurate as possible as the mail piece is not forwarded or returned as it would be with First Class if the address changed within the previous 18 months,” Bilek said. “Since the mailings are sent only every five years and are not sent by First Class, we do not receive new addresses from those who do not respond or register. Help from volunteers is one of the only ways we receive updates for the master list.”

Bilek will print out a list for family names and/or for whatever class or classes a volunteer is willing to examine. She can also send an electronic file. Contact her at 218-445-5475 or deebilek@wcta.net.

Anyone interested helping with the mailing list or with any other plans for the reunion is welcome to attend. For more information contact Blessing at 218-894- 2337.
