The Staples City Council will meet in regular session at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in the council chambers at the Staples Government Center, 611 Iowa Ave. NE

The preliminary city council agenda is as follows:

o Approve agenda and minutes,

o Oath of Office for Mayor and Council Members elected in November, 2009

o Designate official newspaper

o Designate official depositories

o Approve tobacco licenses for 2010

o Consider approval of Pawnbroker’s License for Cody Nelson of Iron Hills West Gun & Pawn

o Consider 2010 legal services contracts with Brown & Krueger, P.A. and Kyra Ladd

o Board, committee and office appointments

o Consider first reading of ordinance amending the zoning ordinance to establish setback and height requirements for awnings

o Consider first reading of ordinance establishing a limit on the number of Stand-Alone Intoxicating Off-Sale liquor store licenses

o Consider cooperative agreement with Todd County for the administration and management of the right of way acquisition process for the North/ South Corridor with Railroad Overpass project
