Songs, poems and short stories were shared at a special 'Kick-off to the Christmas Season' event held at the Staples Adventist Church Dec. 5. Pictured above, Shirley Judd (with some help from her granddaughter, Macy Judd) read the story "A Doll for Great-Grandmother." The story paralleled a true life event of her mother, Blanche Tepley, Shirley said. Following the program, folks enjoyed fresh-baked cookies and hot apple-cider in the church basement.
