SAMANTHA BECKER, Browerville, is a member of the Bemidji State University Wind Ensemble which recently performed concerts in Winnipeg. The ensemble also attended a jazz concert at the University of Manitoba. Samantha is a junior at BSU, majoring in music, teacher certification.

Two share outstanding student honor in Heavy Equipment at CLC

TROY LANG of Clinton and BRIAN NELSON of Long Prairie shared Outstanding Student honors as fall graduates of the Central Lakes College Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program. Both graduated with high honors (3.75-4.0 grade point average). They were among the 43 students recognized in ceremonies held at T Maxwell's, Staples, Nov. 25.

Area graduates were:

STAPLES - Robbie Anderson, Darin Brazell and William Lucas.

VERNDALE - Brandi Crooker (Honors).

The Upsilon Omega chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Central Lakes College inducted 30 new members on Saturday, Dec. 5 in ceremonies on the Brainerd campus.

To be eligible for membership a student must have earned a 3.5 GPA while enrolled for at least 12 credits of education at Central Lakes College.

Local inductees were: MOTLEY - Heidi Wille. RANDALL - Amanda Hand.
