MaryAnn Riewer and Tom Kajer helped get the Northern Pacific Depot in Staples ready for Christmas last weekend, a project organized by the Staples Historical Society. At least a dozen volunteers showed up Nov. 29, to deck the depot walls with wreaths, lights and a host of other festive decorations. An 'Old Fashioned Christmas at the Depot' event will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, 2 - 5 p.m., at the depot in Staples.
