May Township is accepting quotes for snow plowing when there is three inches or more of snow for the following road segments off of Highway 64 and south of Highway 210.

2). Off Highway 64- 110th Street, 100th Street, and 96th Street. Approximately 2.2 miles

3). South of Highway 210-45th Ave., 49th Ave., 132nd Street, 53rd Ave., Ox Trail, and Red River Trail. Approximately 5.6 miles.

Please also include what your response time will be to start plowing these roads.

May Township requires proof of liability insurance in the amount of $500,000.00 and it must be submitted with your quote.

Staples Municipal

Airport Airport Improvement

Project

The City of Staples has proposed construction of a full-length parallel taxiway to provide additional safety at the Staples Municipal Airport. The Proposed Action would include a 35-foot wide and 3,304-foot long parallel taxiway to the full-length of the runway in summer 2011.

An Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared and is available for public review during regular business hours at the Staples City Hall and Staples Public Library both located at 611 Iowa Avenue NE. The EA will be made available for public review beginning November 19, 2009. Written comments will be accepted until December 21, 2009. Please direct written comments to Kaci Gavic, Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc., 3535 Vadnais Center Drive, St. Paul, MN 55110.

The proposed project will result in impacts to farmland and surface water run-off. No impacts to rare, threatened or endangered species will result from the proposed project.

Tribal consultation with the Leech Lake Band of Chippewa, Minnesota Chippewa Tribe and White Earth Reservation was initiated by the FAA. The FAA has completed a finding of no impact to properties listed on or eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The FAA has submitted their finding to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for concurrence. SHPO concurrence will satisfy the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

The City of Staples is offering the opportunity for a public hearing to address the proposed actions, the potential economic, social and environmental effects and consistency with the goals and objectives of community planning. Anyone interested in the project has up to 15 days from the date of this notice to request a hearing. Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. the Todd County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Main Street Government Center, 347 Central Ave, Long Prairie to consider the following applications:

Society of St. Pius X: Lots 4 & 5, Block 1, Starry Estates, Section 18, Round Prairie Township.

Conditional Use Permit to construct a 40x100 ft single story addition to the existing chapel to be used for additional school rooms and added bathroom facilities. Use Permit is required for schools located in Commercial Zoned property. Current school/ church facility has been approved by Conditional Use Permit and this will be an expansion/modification of that use.

Woodside Wind LLC (Kevin and Wannetta Ehnes property owners): (95.52 acres) part of NE4 lying W of RR, Section 2, Wykeham Township.

Conditional Use Permit to construct a meteorological tower approximately 263 ft tall to be used for wind resource assessment. Use Permit is required for experimental tower systems that exceed 100 feet in height.

Proposed amendment to the Todd County Subdivision Regulations: Section 702(9) Cul-de-sacs - Permanent cul-de-sac streets shall not be allowed unless evidence is presented that the road should not or cannot be reasonably continues. The County may require that cul-de-sacs, when permitted, shall provide a public easement extending from the cul-de-sac to the boundary line of the nearest adjoining unsubdivided land to facilitate future connection. Each culde sac shall be provided at the closed end with a turnaround having a minimum outside roadway diameter of 120 feet, a minimum street property line diameter of 140 feet.

The Commissioners have identified several possibilities for revisions in the wording of this section:

The required diameter of the roadway could be reduced to 100 feet from 120 feet and that property line diameter could be reduced to 120 feet from 140 feet; or

The required diameter of the roadway could be reduced to 80 feet from 120 feet and that property lie diameter could be reduced to 120 feet from 140 feet; and/or

Making the option of a "T-turnaround" available.

Review of the revised Todd County Community- Based Comprehensive Plan - for recommendation to the Todd County Board of Commissioners for approval or additional revisions.

Bids must be received in the Office of the City Clerk by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Bids must be marked "Bid on 1979 International" and be accompanied by a Certified Check, Bidder Bond, or cash in the amount of at least 10% of the amount of the bid. This amount will be held by the City of Motley as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into or complete the purchase.
