George John Brandt, 62, of Ozark, Missouri (formerly Grand Rapids and Staples) died Nov. 2, 2009, in Springfield, MO.

Funeral services were Nov. 6, at Eagles Landing Church in Ball Club.Burial was in the Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids.

Arrangements were with the Libbey Funeral Home of Grand Rapids.

George was born Dec. 12, 1946 in Duluth, to Gunnard and Dorothy (Chumich) Brandt.

He married Lana Kay Solberg, in May, 1985.

George attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, graduating in 1998. While in Broken Arrow he retired from Burlington Northern Sante Fe where he was a engineer on the railroad for 26 years.

The family moved back to Minnesota in 2002 where they pastored "Lakes Area Word Fellowship" in Grand Rapids until January, 2009, when they moved to Ozark, Missouri.

George is survived by his wife, two daughters Sunny Ann Pilz of Chehalis, Wash. and Shelley (Adam) Myers of Fredericksburg, VA,three stepsons, Brian (Jenny) Solberg of Circle Pines, Karl (Jeanine) Solberg of Centerville and Royce Solberg of Circle Pines; one stepdaughter Elizabeth Solberg of Colraine; 21 grandchildren; four sisters: Lori Robinson and Leah Olson of Austin; Melody ( Brian) Williams of Phoenix and Lisa Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla; one sister-in-law, Patty Brandt of Lake Grove Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Paul Michael Brandt; and one brother, David Michael Brandt.
