Senior celebrations

The monthly birthday/anniversary party was held Nov. 10 at the Staples Senior Citizens' Center with 20 people attending. There were four people honored for their November birthdays, back row, left to right: Ethel Dezell, Charles Mertens, Roy Anderson and Lucille Koval. Three couples celebrated their wedding anniversaries, front row, left to right, Carol and Don Olsen, Steve and Jan Pogreba, and Mona and Leonard (missing) Weber.

The cakes were decorated with small flags and candles in honor of Veterans Day. There were three veterans in attendance.

The celebrants received cards, cakes and happy birthday/anniversary in song. There was a short program followed by a meal, drawings for prizes and penny bingo. (Submitted photo)
